Week 1 (5/4/2010 - 9/4/2010)

5/4/2010
-First day of my industrial Training at Zaidun-Leeng Sdn.Bhd
-Zaidun-Leeng Sdn. Bhd,
6th Floor, Bangunan Ming #06-01,
Jalan Bukit Nanas,
50250 Kuala Lumpur.
-Met Ms.Josephine, collected building access card.
-Met my supervisor, Ir.Lim Guan Hock and he briefed us on my industrial training.
-Director gave me a task to look into points of level of an apron at the Penang Airport, identify the depression areas as there were water pondings.

6/4/2010
-Prepared contour for apron.
-One area depression was about 40mm.
-Calculated gross area of ponding.
-Evaporation rate in Malaysia about 6mm/day, permanent ponding here.

7/4/2010
-Did critical cross sections on contour to get surface profile of apron.
-Discussed about sump design, slab with 1 unsupported side with triangular load on it.

8/4/2010
-Mr.Law Lok Hong gave me a layout drawing and I identified the area to be cut and filled for a housing development project in Rawang.
-Cut and fill edited on AutoCad
-Analysing beams and columns of a housing project in Rawang, most beams were overdesigned
-Found reactions, loads acting on each beam.

9/4/2010
-Identified beams for roof,first floor, and ground floor.
-Checked beam sizes if it could be reduced and also checked steel reinforcement.
